Pig farming in Thailand is a growing industry with the price of pork on the rise.

How to get started?

  • You will need some land, it must be well drained and dry, with access to water.
  • A shed to keep the pigs shaded is a must in this tropical climate.
  • Stalls are the easiest and best way to keep your pigs housed.

How much to start?
Land - Buy or rent - this will depend on your financial situation and your budget.
Construction of a small lot to house the animals can start as low as 10,000 baht for up to 20 Pigs.
A piglet will cost around 1,000 baht per head.
Food bills will start at around 600 baht a month decreasing to around 300 as the pig matures.
